Moshiach comes with... Glowing Butterflies?

As serious as we can be about Moshiach coming... We can also lighten it up a little! I wanted to share with you my new video, in which I tried to bring out the idea of our bitachon-emunah-belief and trust in Hashem - as represented by the caterpillar. And the ecstatic song of redemption - the glowing butterfly. I hope you will enjoy it.

P.S. I do think that the Moshiach process moves along when we are joyous, and hearing a good song with a good video and message certainly can put us in the right mood...

Sheves Achim is set to release the sequel to their smash hit debut album. This new album features the matured voices of Shimon and Moshe Bell, singing songs composed by Ari Goldwag, Elimelech Blumstein, Yehuda David, and Dovid Klaver, as well as songs that they themselves composed. The album features a great mix of fast paced dance songs, as well as songs with heart and a deep message. Also featured are cameo appearances by child soloist Moshe Dov Goldwag (of Sheves Chaverim) and Ari Goldwag. The release offers eleven brand new songs and promises to be the hit album of the summer. Specially featured on the album is the song entitled "The Artist," composed and lyrics written by Dovid Klaver. This song is both profound and moving.

Beshalach - Water, prophecy and song

Why is the climax of the Exodus specifically at Yam Suf, a body of water?
What is the significance of the fact that there was an incredible level of prophecy at yam suf? Why does the Torah stress, a number of times, that the water was a wall for them, to their right and left? What is the secret of the three verses of 72 letters and the 72 letter name of Hashem? What is the deep connection to Succos, where we see that the 72 letter name is used, as per Rashi in Succah? What is the deeper connection between water, ruach hakodesh, and song? Why did each of the twelve tribes get their own path? What is the significance of the miracle that they were able to see through the water and view each of the other tribes? Here, my son Moshe Dov is featured singing the song, and I perform the harmonies and background vocals. The second song is an A Capella version of the hit "Ogil" which was featured on the album Sheves Achim. Here, Shimon and Moshe Bell sing it once again, but with a musical backdrop that is only vocal.

The Call

Sheves Chaverim will be performing this evening in the Menorat Hamaor shul on Nachal Maor in Ramat Bet Shemesh Alef. The performance will begin around 8:30 PM. The boys performing will be Yair Frohlich, Moshe Dov Goldwag, Shlomo Lipman, Baruch Sheff, and Zev Sheff. They will be singing songs from their new album. The album will also be available for purchase.

The album contains twelve songs, including two English songs. The vocals were done by six wonderful child soloists: Moshe Bell (of Sheves Achim), Yair Frohlich, Moshe Dov Goldwag (my son), Shlomo Lipman, Baruch Sheff, and Zev Sheff (twins!).

So, you may have noticed that I have been somewhat absent over the last few weeks. Baruch Hashem, I have been working hard to complete the new music album that I have produced, entitled Sheves Chaverim. It is an album that continues where Sheves Achim left off. (Look out for Sheves Achim volume 2 in the future!) The album features six child vocalists - Moshe Bell, Yair Frohlich, Moshe Dov Goldwag, Shlomo Lipman, Zev and Baruch Sheff. It contains twelve songs, two in English. It is the culmination of a production that stretched for over a year. I composed 11 out of the 12 songs, with the twelfth song being a classic Shlomo Carlebach song. It is my hope that you will find inspiration in the music, and that it will bring you to heightened levels of closeness to Hashem. Be'H, the album should be in stores before Chanukah.

Last night, we celebrated the wedding of my Brother-in-law Yonoson Sanford in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. My son Moshe Dov and I sang this beautiful song, composed by Baruch Levine.
