Pesach - Spiritual Light and Judgment

Why does the gemara in Rosh Hashana say that all three of the holidays are times of judgment - Pesach, Shavuos, and Succos? Why are they specifically linked to a judgment around our physical sustenance? Why are there special commandments to fulfill for these holidays?
