Moshiach Podcast 11 - Moshiach NOW?

What do we mean when we ask for Moshiach to come quickly? It seems to have taken quite a long time. What is the sense of urgency that we see around us in those who are looking for Moshiach to come? Why is the advent of Moshiach specifically through a process? When does it become fast? What is the laughter of Moshiach? Why does Moshiach ben Yosef come to a generation which is completely in a negative state?

We explore all these questions, and more in the 11th Moshiach podcast.

Running time: 38:11

I kinda knew that nothing was gonna happen during pesach 5772 and I know nothing will happen on tisha b av 5772. I agree with you, waiting on specific dates is destructive and pointless.

We want Moshiach now! LOL such a funny song

I was curious.. what attracted you to the idea of redemption or why do frum jews really want redemption? For me personally I find the idea of the ketz, with the whole death and destruction exciting, you know with the earthquakes, solar flares, global pandemic, volcanic eruptions, and nuclear wars. I always loved disaster movies.

I respect what you say, despite the cynical tone. For me, personally, what draws me to this Torah is the hope and anticipation for a time when Hashem is revealed and all mankind serves Him as one, as described in the amidah of Rosh Hashana and Yom Kippur. I think I do understand those who get excited about the doomsday stuff, and I don't think it is because of the appeal of disaster scenarios. It is because Moshiach's advent is a birth, and the birth can be painful. But a mother who is waiting for her child to be born, while she is waiting, she looks at the faint contractions and thinks, "Am I going into labor?" She does not look forward to the labor in itself. Instead, she looks forward to the birth which follows the labor. It is exciting to her, however, when she feels like there might be some forward movement.
